ROLE OVERVIEW

The Quality Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving quality control processes that ensure product integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role serves as a key technical resource for inspection planning, raw material and product certification management, process capability improvement, and crossfunctional quality systems support. The Quality Process Engineer partners with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality teams to strengthen process control, elevate product performance, and support continuous improvement across the organization.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Primary responsibility is being the owner of the production part approval process (PPAP) and first article inspections (FAI) to meet customer requirements for new business
  • Ensure full adherence to all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring documentation accuracy, process alignment, and audit readiness.
  • Develop new inspection plans and update existing plans based on product, process, and customer requirements.
  • Provide accurate inspection specifications to data specialists and verify proper entry into SAP or related systems.
  • Investigate quality issues related to inspection plans, sampling methods, or process deviations, driving resolution and preventive actions.
  • Ensure sampling methodologies remain aligned with best practices, customer expectations, and industry standards.
  • Partner with Operations to improve process control systems, including the capture and analysis of qualitycritical process parameters within routings.
  • Ensure flawless transfer of technical and quality information across operations teams and manufacturing workflows.
  • Provide backup support for customer complaint handling, including investigation, documentation, and communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, enhancing process capability, and improving data accuracy.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process streamlining, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Assist in training quality and production personnel on test methods, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality tools.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate job ticket flow and quality documentation to ensure all departments have timely access to technical requirements
  • Coordinate risk management activities and documentation (e.g. PFMEAs, Control Plans) to ensure risks are accurately identified and proper control measures are in place
  • Manage measurement system analysis (e.g. Gauge R&R's) for measurement tools and devices
  • Oversee the change management process, ensuring that project managers document applicable process changes

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in quality engineering, manufacturing operations, or process control preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
