Job SummaryThe Corporate CM/DM Manager will possess a comprehensive knowledge of Configuration Management Principles as they apply to both Hardware and Software for DoD Simulation and Training programs to accomplish the following CM activities: Development and maintenance of configuration management documentation (plans, processes, procedures) that Create Company Standards, Track and Control changes to configured items, Establish baselines, Perform audits, and Collaborate with Engineering on the release of hardware drawings and software builds.Additionally, the CM/DM Manager will ensure that all projects and programs are adhering to company Configuration Management/Data Management processes.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
  • Create/maintain configuration management processes that utilize software tools to accomplish configuration control and change management.
  • Follow and enforce configuration management policies and practices.
  • Educate staff about configuration policies and practices.
  • Maintain (update as necessary) configuration management plans and procedures.
  • Analyze and resolve configuration problems in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate configuration discrepancies to Management for immediate resolutions.
  • Approve Configuration management solutions that effectively meet customer requirements when deviation from standards is required.
  • Plan and coordinate system configuration activities for timely completion.
  • Develop process improvements to enhance configuration efficiency.
  • Determine configuration requirements and develop system configuration procedures.
  • Manage any program CM managers that are executing system configuration in accordance with customer needs.
  • Assist in configuration audits and implement audit recommendations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field. Substitutions: Eight (8) years of professional experience in Configuration and Data Management or related roles.
  • At least 1 year of experience in configuration/change management associated with the software development of DoD simulation training systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in CMMI and ISO 9001.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, intra-team and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Attention to detail in written documentation and work performed.
  • Ability to analyze and think critically about a problem.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

  • Windows computer or laptop, phone, copier, fax machine, filing cabinets.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook).
  • Issue Tracking and information sharing applications (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
