Essential Functions * Manage third party transportation and warehouse operations within parameters of job description. * Collaborate with both service providers and business units in pursuit of low cost/high service solutions based on the strategies of the individual business units. * Identify and implement opportunities for logistics network efficiencies in transportation. * Responsible for leading, developing, implementing and enforcing third party performance metrics. * Responsible for leading, developing, and holding direct reports accountable for performance. * Work with partners to continually identify and drive process improvement and cost reduction activities. * Ensure corporate logistics operations scope is in compliance with all operational documented quality standards. Ensure proper supplier measurement systems and evaluations are in place and audited as required. * Provide analytical and process improvement support to the logistics operations team group as well as the business units. * Leverage SAP systems knowledge to understand shipping, receiving, and financial flows as well as familiarity with third party partners systems., * Other projects/duties as assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all third party warehouse operations within parameters of job description above including manufacturing plant, integrated supply, and POD, contract warehouse operations (including non-POD public warehouses). Integrate with both service providers and business units in pursuit of low cost/high service contract warehouse alternatives. Identify opportunities for contract warehouse expansion and lead implementation efforts. Shuttle operations included.
- Manage assigned on site Logistics TMS operations including activities of entire customer service/log tech group. Integrate with both business unit supply chain personnel and provider management team to provide low cost/high service order delivery processes. In conjunction with IT and Logistics project/administration manager, identify opportunities to automate existing processes and eliminate non-value add activities. Customer returns included.
- Act as primary logistics liaison with business unit sourcing groups on all transportation and warehouse operations activities. Expand current level of inbound logistics activity with supplier base and investigate alternatives to automate processes. As time permits and through the direction of Director of Logistics, integrate with centralized sourcing activities.
- Act as primary logistics liaison with corporate quality group. Ensure corporate logistics group is in compliance with all documented quality standards. Ensure proper supplier measurement systems and evaluations are in place and audited on a regular basis.
Physical/Environ. Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (up to 60% of the work day). Must be able to traverse to/from required meetings. Must be able to input data into a computer. Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate. * Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field is required, or equivalent work experience with a high school diploma required * Strong knowledge of transportation and warehousing industries * Experience managing third party transportation and warehouse partner * At least three years of experience in a Corporate Logistics role supporting multiple business groups * A minimum of three year of leadership experience including managing direct reports * Experience with SAP required Physical Demands * Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (up to 60% of the work day).
