B&R is seeking a highly motivated Application Sales Specialist for our East Sales Team. This role operates at the apex of ideation, creation, and innovation in our market. The B&R Application Sales Specialist engages with strategic accounts providing world-class support, driving technical innovation, and leveraging B&R's platform. This role is responsible for owning the technical elements and relationships associated with existing key accounts and new projects. It operates as an aggregate of outside sales and application engineering to maximize our client's effectiveness in utilizing B&R's technology.

The work model for the role is: The US Headquarters for B&R is in Alpharetta, GA. Candidates located in GA or PA preferred.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead account support strategy with an interest and cultivate important customer relationships with technical teams including programmers and technicians through engineering management; utilize active engagement both in formal and informal interactions.
  • Uncover and manage deep understanding of customer teams and decision processes and develop an understanding of customers' machine life cycle and future development roadmap
  • Lead highly technical value-proposition generation by understanding the unique needs of customer teams and aligning them with B&R's offerings.
  • Identify, define, and develop the best technical solution and strategy for customer applications.
  • Lead customer exploration of next generation technology with a clear understanding of B&R's product roadmap and life cycle management; proactively engage with customers to fully discover and document pain/issues/opportunities.
  • Leverage knowledge of B&R technology to generate interest in B&R solutions.
  • Strategically educate internal and external opportunity resources to build mindshare, trust, and to influence customer requirements in favor of B&R's strengths.
  • Own action items and drive touchpoints and milestones
  • Maintain sufficient expertise on key technology innovations, and lead engagements with product managers and other internal resources
  • Study relevant competitive technical information to sufficiently support system crossing, and technical differentiation
  • Lead and drive activities around proof-of-concepting and simulations required to develop opportunities; lead the technical elements of solution selection- both hardware and high-level software architectures within the targeted customer budget
  • Lead required work estimation activities and defining requirements in enough detail for efficient engagement applications engineering.
  • Be available to flex into project management and project development functions when needed to support resource surges if needed; additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years' of B&R technical experience highly preferred
  • Up to 40% travel, mostly in the region with occasional other domestic and international travel; valid driver's license and passport required with no barriers to travel.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical products and solutions.
  • Effective interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about the application of leading-edge technology across industries.
  • Intrinsic motivation, desire to make an impact.
