Job Description

The University of Missouri seeks a results-oriented individual to join its Annual Giving team, a strategic, collaborative group supporting a $20M plus annual program poised for significant growth as the university advances fundraising priorities in the Power the Roar $2B campaign.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Annual Giving, the Director will work closely with University Advancement colleagues to strengthen donor retention and increase annual giving support for Mizzou. This role oversees strategies to recruit, engage, and retain donors across the university's 13 schools and colleges, MU Health Care, and campus units, including the Mizzou Libraries, the Chancellor's Fund for Excellence, the Mizzou Scholarship Fund, and MU Extension. The Director also plays a key role in supporting Mizzou Giving Day, our largest annual fundraising campaign.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage School and College Unit Fundraising

  • Develop and implement omnichannel strategies for assigned units, including direct mail, email, digital outreach, texting, and other platforms
  • Plan and coordinate special giving campaigns for assigned units
  • Advise unit development staff on annual giving best practices and ensure alignment with central annual giving initiatives
  • Analyze campaigns and provide actionable reports to unit partners

Manage MU Healthcare and Campus Support Unit Fundraising

  • Develop and implement omnichannel strategies for MU Health Care and designated campus units.
  • Coordinate special campaigns tailored to unit priorities
  • Advise unit staff on an annual basis, giving best practices and integrating their efforts with centrally led initiatives
  • Analyze campaign performance and share insights and recommendations with unit partners.

Support Mizzou Giving Day

  • Support the planning and execution of Mizzou Giving Day, the university's largest online fundraising event held each March
  • Partner with the Advancement Division Communications team (ADCM) on campaign design, messaging, and content
  • Coordinate with the central annual giving team and unit partners to ensure cohesive execution
  • Collaborate with Donor Relations to develop a stewardship plan for Giving Day donors
  • Other duties as assigned in support of our donor engagement efforts. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with consistent professionalism.

Shift

M-F 8am-5pm with some occasional events

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Deep appreciation for the mission and values of public higher education.
* Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of major gift fundraising experience in higher education or an academic medical center.
* Experience with capital campaigns and a strong commitment to campaign goals.
* Effective leadership skills in both stable and transitional environments.
* Collaborative and decisive team-building style; ability to thrive in a complex organizational setting.
* Proven success in building relationships with volunteers, administrators, faculty, and donors.
* Proficiency with CRM systems, reporting tools, and analytics in an advancement context.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead high-level gift discussions and conduct personal solicitation calls across diverse constituencies.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually
Grade: PAT - 011
