Job Title: Arbitrator I

Location(s): Euless, TX
(Hybrid: Remote on Monday and Friday)

Job Summary:
Responsible for reviewing, investigating, and resolving post-sale vehicle disputes by mediating between buyers and sellers, ensuring compliance with auction policies, and facilitating fair resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer complaints and mechanic reports regarding vehicle condition.
  • Inspect vehicles to determine the extent of repairs and authorize second opinions when necessary.
  • Explain auction policies, complaint procedures, and arbitration processes to customers.
  • Mediate disputes and negotiate repairs and/or pricing to reach mutually acceptable resolutions while aiming to retain completed sales.
  • Identify and resolve post-sale issues such as title discrepancies, mileage concerns, and frame damage.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case files for all arbitration activities.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and other internal departments during investigations and fact-finding processes.
  • Liaise with federal and state authorities on issues such as odometer discrepancies and salvage vehicles.
  • Promote auction services, including post-sale inspections, to drive additional business.
  • Evaluate customer claims to ensure compliance with arbitration policies and account-specific guidelines; provide input on financial decisions.
  • Screen and process vehicles eligible for post-sale inspections.
  • Educate buyers and sellers on timelines, costs, and procedures related to inspections and claims.
  • Follow all safety protocols and actively support workplace safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of automotive, mechanical, or body shop experience preferred.
  • Experience with complaint handling and dispute resolution is highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills; report writing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state vehicle arbitration laws is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear regularly.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Schedule:
  • Hybrid schedule: Remote on Monday and Friday; on-site Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Initial training may require full-time on-site attendance for the first few weeks until remote eligibility is established.
