Overview

The SUD Residential Team Lead is responsible for assisting in the administration and oversight of daily operations, designed for adults with severe substance use disorders and mental illness. Additionally, the Team Lead provides support to both SUD residential staff and consumers in the residential programs. SUD Residential Team Lead will facilitate the activities of the unit through the effective performance of receptionist, transcriptionist, and clerical processes and/or to assist patient care team in performing assigned patient care and unit maintenance activities. This position manages information and connects physicians, team members and visitors with appropriate resources.
Qualifications

Certifications:

Driver's License - Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS)

Education: Associate degree: Psychology, Social Work, Related Field.

Work Experience:

2 years exp in one of the following

  • Behavioral health
  • Substance abuse behavioral heatlh
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Substance abuse treatment
  • Clinicial substance abuse treatment
  • Chemical dependency treatment counseling
Other Requirements

Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA and other state and federal laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Key Accountability - Program Oversight and Administration
  • Actively participates in the planning and development of comprehensive residential services, budgets, policies and standards.
  • Works effectively as a key member of an interdisciplinary leadership team.
  • Assists Manager in ensuring expenses meet budget and assists in securing funding for residential services whenever possible.
  • Assists Manager in ensuring all agency and governmental regulations for residential services are met.
  • With the manager, regularly inspects the living environment at residential sites for compliance with health and safety requirements. Works with other agency departments to ensure residential sites are properly maintained.
  • Works with Manager and Program Nurse to ensure all consumer medications are properly ordered, stored, and observed.
  • Works with Manager to develop and implement residential programming.
  • Works with manager to purchase food items for selected residential sites.
  • Assists in the oversight and approval of transportation as needed.
  • Assists Manager with providing evening and weekend on-call availability for crises and staff support at all residential sites (both Peoria and Pekin locations).
Key Accountability - Staff Support and Supervision
  • Assists Manager with the hiring, orientation, training, evaluating and supervision of residential staff.
  • Helps develop and implement staff schedules to assure all sites have proper coverage according to shift needs to complete necessary consumer functions, such as dietary, housekeeping, dispensing of medications, etc.
  • Assists with promoting staff compliance with productivity standards, as well as ensuring accurate paperwork submission is completed in a timely manner.
Key Accountability - Consumer Support and Supervision
  • Oversees and provides case management/ skills training/ recovery services to residential consumers.
  • Coordinates residential consumers' medical needs with case management/nursing staff.
  • Provides assessment and clinical documentation.
  • Responds appropriately to consumer crises.
Performs transportation duties in an independent manner with little or no direct supervision.
  • Understands correct patient identifiers
  • Uses proper BSI technique when handling and transporting specimens/medications
  • Maintains safety in the vans: follows all agency protocol and state laws (no smoking; all staff and consumers must wear seat belts; all children under age 8 are in child restraint devices; keeps first aid boxes filled; keeps gas tanks above one quarter full; drives in safe manner; follows the maintenance schedules.
  • Records services accurately in order to bill appropriately.
  • Develops and maintains positive and respectful relationships with consumers.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $23.43per hour - $39.13per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
