Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced mid-to-senior level immigration attorney for engagement through the firm's alternative-track attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected attorney will work part-time with the Immigration practice group handling all aspects of business immigration matters, including nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, E, TN, O-1, B-1, F-1); consular processing; immigrant visas (EB1, EB2, EB3, and PERM); and I-9 audits and other immigration compliance issues. Attorneys must be barred in the state where they reside and in a state where DWT maintains an office. Although the selected attorney may work remotely, they should expect hours to fluctuate based on the client's schedule and time zone. Candidates with demonstrated experience managing business immigration matters and full professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese are encouraged to apply. Attorneys should be able to work independently and exercise good judgement, but should also collaborate easily with various business stakeholders, other lawyers, and support staff to meet objectives within short deadlines. This position offers the flexibility of remote work and an anticipated 30 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the availability of appropriate work and a minimum number of hours per week is not guaranteed. This role experiences cyclical workload patterns, including periods of higher demand followed by slower intervals. Candidates should be comfortable and flexible in adjusting to these fluctuations. The engagement is for an initial 6-month contract term. There is a high possibility of renewal for successful candidates, although any extension or renewal is not guaranteed. We are looking for attorneys interested in establishing a long-term working relationship with DWT on an exclusive basis.
Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT's flexible attorney program, DWTSurge. Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with experience and skill level (see below). This role is eligible for benefits.
