THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a part-time Staff Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluation, consultation, and treatment services for customers, including assessments for admissions and ongoing care. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and monitor treatment plans, review medical records and external reports, and make appropriate referrals. Work also involves prescribing and managing therapies and medications, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with medical staff, families, and external providers
  • Supporting staff through guidance and training
  • Participating in case conferences
  • Serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings regarding customers

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday and Tuesday, with a 30-minute lunch. On-call Wednesday - Friday, 6:30 Am to 4:00 PM.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
  • This position requires completion of a residency program in child psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
