The President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the senior executive leader of Ridgeview and is accountable to the Board of Directors for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and cultural performance of the organization. The CEO provides visionary leadership to advance the mission, vision, and values of the health system while ensuring high-quality, safe, accessible, and financially sustainable care for the communities served.

The CEO works in close partnership with the Board, medical staff, executive team, and community stakeholders to position the health system for long-term success in an evolving healthcare environment.


Reporting Relationships

The President/CEO will report to the Ridgeview Board of Directors. The President/CEO will provide overall leadership and supervision to the executive team of approximately 8 team members which includes the following direct reports:

* Chief Operating Officer

* Chief Information Officer

* Chief Patient Care Officer

* Chief Medical Officer

* Chief Financial Officer

* Chief Human Resources Officer

* VP, Support Services

* VP, Support

Non-executive team direct report: Director Foundation


Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Lead the development and execution of the health system's strategic plan in alignment with mission, vision, and community needs.
  • Anticipate and respond to industry trends, regulatory changes, market dynamics, and emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Foster innovation, growth, and transformation while balancing short-term operational priorities with long-term sustainability.

Operational and Clinical Oversight
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, patient-centered care across all settings.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Partner effectively with physician and clinical leaders to advance quality, safety, access, and care outcomes.

Financial Stewardship
  • Provide strong fiscal leadership to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
  • Oversee budgeting, capital planning, financial performance, and risk management.
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support strategic priorities and community benefit.

Governance and Board Relations
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, providing transparent, timely, and accurate information to support effective governance.
  • Collaborate with the Board on strategy, policy development, CEO performance evaluation, and organizational oversight.
  • Support Board development and engagement.

Culture, Leadership, and Talent
  • Champion the organization's values and foster a culture of kindness, compassion and intuition.
  • Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing executive and leadership team.
  • Promote leadership development, succession planning, and workforce engagement across the organization.

Community and External Relations
  • Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson for Ridgeview.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, regulators, payers, partners, donors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the health needs of the community and the mission of the organization at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, regional providers, partners and community organizations.
  • Build constructive relationships with local and state officials.
  • Participate in regional and state healthcare forums.
  • Monitor emerging trends and policy changes affective health systems.

Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Oversee enterprise risk management, including quality, safety, financial, legal, and reputational risks.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, MPH, or MD strongly preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experiencein healthcare, includingat least 7-10 years in senior executive roles(e.g., CEO, President, COO, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience leading a complex healthcare organization, such as a multi-hospital system, integrated delivery network, or large acute-care hospital.
  • Proven track record ofstrategic planning and execution, including organizational growth, transformation, or turnaround.
  • Demonstrated success infinancial management, including oversight of operating and capital budgets, financial performance, and long-term sustainability.
  • Experience working effectively with agoverning Board of Directors, including board reporting, governance support, and executive accountability.
  • Established history of partnering withphysician and clinical leadersto improve quality, safety, access, and patient outcomes.

Experience navigatingregulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements in a highly regulated healthcare environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a health system CEO or president.
  • Experience leading organizations through growth, mergers, affiliations, or strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success invalue-based care, population health, or care delivery transformation.
  • Experience incommunity engagement, philanthropy, and government relations.
  • Experience leading in anonprofit health system environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare finance, operations, quality, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and systems-thinking capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership presence and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • High degree of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to mission-driven leadership.
