West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurosurgery in the WVU School of Medicine are seeking a neurosurgeon (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) for Independence Health System at Latrobe and Westmoreland Hospitals. The practice will focus on all aspects of spinal neurosurgery but will also include general neurosurgery.

Independence Health System offers patients nationally recognized quality care in cardiology, orthopedics, palliative care, and maternity as well as a broad range of surgical, medical, emergency, and behavioral health services, and an extensive network of primary care physicians. With five hospitals, nearly 1,000 healthcare providers and more than 7,000 employees, Independence Health System serves a multi-county region and is the largest employer in Butler and Westmoreland counties.

The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually. The 300+ physicians and scientists of the RNI improve lives by pioneering advances in neuroscience, brain health, and therapeutics. The RNI team uses the latest technologies with academic, government, and industry partners to make tangible progress to combat public health challenges ranging from addiction to Alzheimer's disease. The RNI's flagship facilities are located on the WVU Health Sciences campus in Morgantown with more than 2,200 dedicated team members across seven departments, patient care units, and research laboratories. https://rni.wvumedicine.org/

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of neurosurgery on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a neurosurgery residency program and must be board certified/eligible in neurosurgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
