ROLE OVERVIEW

The Logistics Intern supports the supply chain team by improving visibility, efficiency, and operational performance across logistics activities for key strategic equipment or/and operations spare parts. The intern supports inventory operations, helps optimize inventory and increase discrepancy visibility by analyzing inventory records and identifying inconsistencies between systems and physical stock. The role also supports data analysis and reporting to track shipments, inventory accuracy, and logistics performance metrics.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze inventory data and investigate discrepancies between systems and physical stock to improve inventory accuracy visibility.

  • Cleanse logistics master data to support transactional accuracy (e.g., material record accuracy and completeness).

  • Support process improvement and optimization initiatives by reviewing current procedures and recommending data-driven improvements (e.g., warehouse layout, transportation routes, and end-user experience enhancements).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Accuracy & Data Integrity

  • Review and reconcile inventory records across systems; identify root causes of variances and propose corrective actions.

  • Support annual or cycle count variance analysis and help standardize discrepancy reporting for improved visibility.

  • Cleanse and maintain logistics master data to improve transactional accuracy and reporting reliability.

  • Assist with purchase order housekeeping activities (e.g., data validation and PO closure).

Reporting & Performance Metrics

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of dashboards/reports that highlight shipment status, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and other logistics KPIs.

  • Analyze trends and exceptions; summarize insights for the supply chain/logistics team to support decision-making.

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Review current logistics procedures and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance the internal end-user experience.

  • Support optimization projects such as evaluating warehouse layouts, analyzing transportation routes, and recommending data-driven improvements to logistics operations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify issues, and communicate insights clearly; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic data modeling); Power BI experience (or similar visualization tools) preferred.

  • Ability to work with ERP and/or warehouse systems (e.g., SAP) to support shipment tracking, inventory accuracy, and reporting; familiarity with Procure-to-Pay (PR/PO, GR/SES) concepts is a plus.

  • High attention to detail and comfort working with master data, reports, and transactional records (purchase orders, shipments, receipts).

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, carriers, and 3PL partners.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operations-focused environment.

  • Commitment to working safely and following applicable company policies/procedures while supporting time-sensitive deliverables.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $21.00 and $30.18/per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus. The benefits offered for this position are: medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (including vacation, sick leave time, and parental leave).
