Overview

The Director of Federal Healthcare IT will lead the strategic vision, growth, and operational excellence of the organization's federal healthcare domain. This executive will be responsible for shaping and executing a domain strategy that drives sustainable growth, delivers missioncritical healthcare IT solutions, and ensures highquality execution across federal health agencies.

The VP will serve as the senior leader accountable for pipeline growth, customer relationships, solution positioning, and delivery oversight, ensuring alignment with federal healthcare missions such as care delivery, benefits administration, research, supply chain, and public health. This role requires strong executive leadership, deep understanding of federal healthcare IT environments, and the ability to collaborate across growth, solution, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Domain Growth

  • Establish and execute a domainlevel strategy for Federal Healthcare IT aligned with organizational objectives and federal health agency missions.
  • Position the organization as a market leader in federal healthcare IT modernization, advancing interoperable health data platforms, digital care delivery systems, and secure enterprise health solutions.
  • Define and achieve annual domain revenue targets, growth objectives, and profit margins.
  • Monitor federal healthcare market trends, agency priorities, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline across healthcare agencies (e.g., VA, HHS, CMS, NIH, DHA, USDA).
  • Establish domain roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics to ensure strategic alignment and execution discipline.

Federal Healthcare Domain Leadership

  • Provide executive leadership across key healthcare IT focus areas, such as:
    • Electronic Health Records (EHR) modernization and interoperability.
    • Healthcare data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML enablement - Responsible AI and Automation.
    • Interoperability and Data Portability, patient safety infrastructure.
    • Digital health, benefits systems, and enterprise business systems.
    • Security, privacy, and compliance within federal healthcare environments.
    • Workforce Modernization and Digital Literacy- Reskilling and Upskilling.
    • Cloud modernization, DevSecOps, and platform engineering.
  • Maintain working knowledge of federal healthcare policies, standards, and frameworks (e.g., interoperability mandates, data governance, privacy requirements).
  • Engage credibly with federal healthcare stakeholders to understand mission needs, delivery challenges, and operational priorities.

Business Development & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate with Growth teams-BD, Capture, Solution, and Program teams to identify, shape, and pursue healthcare IT opportunities.
  • Lead and support proposal development efforts, providing executive oversight, win themes, and domain alignment.
  • Cultivate and maintain trusted executivelevel relationships with federal healthcare customers and partners.
  • Support capture strategies, solution differentiation, and competitive positioning to improve win probability.
  • Achieve or exceed established performance targets, including TCV and pipeline conversion goals.

Delivery & Operational Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight to ensure program delivery aligns with contractual commitments, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Ensure effective coordination between delivery teams, solution architects, and customer stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve delivery risks proactively, escalating as necessary to maintain performance and customer confidence.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgets, resource utilization, and profitability across the healthcare domain.
  • Ensure delivery outcomes align with agency missions, compliance requirements, and longterm customer value.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of driving business growth, developing winning strategies, and ensuring operational excellence in federal IT environments.
  • 20+ years of professional experience, including:
    • 10+ years leading operations at a federal contractor
    • 5+ years leading or supporting growth initiatives at a federal contractor
  • Proven executive leadership experience in Federal Healthcare IT, health systems modernization, or related federal mission domains.
  • Strong understanding of federal healthcare agencies, acquisition environments, and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with federal healthcare IT modernization concepts, including secure cloud adoption, interoperable health data platforms, DevSecOps, and enterprise healthcare systems that support care delivery, health data exchange, and agency mission outcomes
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and crossfunctional leadership skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare administration, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Clearance:

  • Ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation.
  • US Citizen.
