Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at theBeckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

A Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity is available in the lab of Dr. Mingye Feng. His laboratory employs cutting-edge techniques to understand mechanisms of macrophages in cancer immunosurveillance, identify immune checkpoints and ligands on various hematopoietic malignant and solider tumor cells with high-throughput screening and protein engineering approaches developed in the lab, and develop novel cancer immunotherapies targeting metastatic cancer cells. Cancer immunotherapy is one of the most important breakthroughs in the development of cancer treatment approaches. As one of the largest populations of immune cells in human body and the major components of primary tumors and the metastatic sites, macrophages are key effectors mediating tumor immunosurveillance. Macrophage-based cancer immunotherapy is considered one of the most promising fields in cancer immunology and the next generation of cancer immunotherapy. Recent publications in the Feng lab include Advanced Science, 2026; Nature communications, 2025; Blood, 2022; Science Advances, 2022; JITC, 2021; etc.

Translational medicine is highly promoted at City of Hope, and the lab is well supported by multiple grants from NIH and other research foundations. The lab is also collaborating with clinicians at the Helford Clinical Research Hospital at City of Hope to translate research work in the laboratory to clinically viable agents and therapies.

As a successful candidate you will:

* Utilize a combination of cell biological, molecular biological, cell engineering and immunological assays, large-scale high-throughput screening approaches (CIRSPR screen, drug screen, etc.) and in vivo preclinical models to study interactions between cancer cells and macrophages and develop novel macrophage-mediated cancer immunotherapies. All the research platforms have been well established in the lab.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

* PhD or M.D. in relevant field to include but not limited to cancer, immunology, or cell biology
