Enterprise Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support our LOB. This role requires an architect who can work across products and domains to define end-to-end solutions, not someone limited to designing a single application in isolation. The ideal candidate can connect business intent to technical execution, influence stakeholders, and guide engineering teams from concept through delivery. This role is often described as Enterprise Architecture, but at its core, it is about connecting the dots, making informed architectural decisions, and driving outcomes through collaboration and influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with product managers and business stakeholders to refine and clarify requirements.
• Define, document, and execute architectural patterns using C1 and C2 architecture documentation.
• Design end-to-end solutions that span multiple products, platforms, and teams.
• Define and govern APIs and event-driven integrations, including Kafka events.
• Evaluate architectural options and make informed decisions (e.g., API vs. event-based messaging), clearly articulating trade-offs and recommendations.
• Provide hands-on architectural guidance to engineering teams, including:
  • Explaining design intent and expectations
  • Reviewing designs and implementations
  • Supporting engineers through delivery
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Challenge assumptions constructively and advocate for the best architectural outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience working as a Product Architect, Solution Architect, or Enterprise Architect on complex, distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work across teams and products to deliver true end-to-end solutions.
• Strong experience designing:
  • RESTful and/or event-driven APIs
  • Kafka-based event architectures
• Deep understanding of architectural patterns, integration strategies, and trade-offs.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to:
  • Explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear terms
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Know when and how to respectfully challenge a position
• Curiosity and a continuous-learning mindset.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams navigate options and decisions.
