Bruker Nano, one of Bruker's four operating segments, provides customers in academic and governmental institutions, life science, materials, and applied industries with the tools to determine the characteristics of matter and visualize the structure of molecules. Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy.

As a Field Service Engineer for Bruker AXS, you perform the installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of the Bruker AXS - SCD-XRD product line: D8 Quest, D8 Venture, MetalJet, D8 DISCOVER, ADVANCE, ENDEAVOR and D6 PHASER that are included in our Crystallography X-ray diffraction portfolio.



Responsibilities

* Install analytical x-ray equipment
* Analyze malfunctioning x-ray equipment and determine corrective action, replace faulty components, and make necessary adjustments and alignments
* Perform preventive maintenance according to written preventative maintenance procedures
* Prepare and submit reports covering all job activities with accuracy and detail
* Participate in on-the-job training of field service personnel when required
* Suggest methods to offer improvement to equipment performance and functionality
* Between assignments be available during normal working hours for immediate response to reassignment and telephone support
* Remain in contact with assigned customers to ensure that there are no unreported problems
* Promote and maintain service contracts in assigned region
* Keep up to date on new products and product changes within his/her required sphere of activity to increase own capabilities and skills
* Conduct all field assignments according to service department procedures
* Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager or supervisor
* Travel to customer locations 80% or higher



Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* AA Degree in electronics required; bachelor's degree preferred. Previous military experience in electronics a plus.
* 3 years previous service experience installing and repairing complex electronic systems.
* Experience using the Bruker AXS LLC SCD-XRD system is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and repair complex equipment problems in a minimum amount of time
* Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with both internal and external customers
* Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions
* Familiarity with the operation and use of standard electronic test equipment
* Familiarity with the use of personal computers
* Ability to travel extensively by air and car both domestically and internationally if needed
* Live one hour or less to nearest major airport
* Reside in the Southwest United States or Western United States

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $60,750 and $108,000 provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
