Description & Requirements
The Regional HR Director is responsible for driving talent outcomes across the Northeast region. Operating with Directorlevel scope and influence, this role partners closely with regional, market, and serviceline leaders to translate firm strategy into integrated, businessaligned people solutions.
The role provides strategic leadership across the full talent lifecycle, including workforce planning, compensation, talent development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness. The Regional HR Director leads and develops a team of HR Business Partners and Generalists and serves as the primary talent advisor to senior leaders within the business.
Success in this role requires demonstrated expertise in strategic leadership, cultural intelligence, innovation, risk management, and the ability to influence outcomes with firmwide impact.
What You Will Do:
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Serves as a trusted strategic advisor to regional and market leadership, contributing to long-term people and business strategies aligned with firm objectives.
  • Collaborates with senior People leadership to shape and execute firmwide initiatives related to compensation, benefits, workforce strategy, talent management, and organizational design.
  • Identifies and monitors key people and talent metrics, using data-driven insights to assess regional performance, workforce risks, and market competitiveness.
  • Applies broad business acumen and deep HR expertise to solve complex, ambiguous issues with significant operational and reputational impact.
  • Proactively identifies emerging people related risks across the region, including trends related to employee morale, leadership practices, engagement, or compliance, and escalates concerns appropriately.
Risk Management & Employee Relations
  • Serves as the primary risk advisor to regional and market leadership on complex people matters, balancing business objectives with firm values, legal compliance, and reputational risk.
  • Leads the assessment and management of high risk and sensitive employee relations issues, including performance failures, misconduct, investigations, reductions in force, and other matters with significant legal, cultural, or business impact.
  • Exercises sound judgment and discretion in separation decisions, ensuring actions are consistent with firm policy, employment law, precedent, and the firm's defined risk tolerance.
  • Partners closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and senior People leadership to evaluate options, mitigate exposure, and determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Maintains consistency and fairness in outcomes while recognizing when differentiated approaches are required due to complexity, precedent, or firmwide implications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make and stand behind difficult, high stakes decisions, communicating them clearly, respectfully, and with compassion.
  • Ensures regional compliance with all applicable employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and labor laws, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and best practices.
T eam Leadership, Development & Execution
  • Leads regional execution of firmwide talent strategies and programs, including talent lifecycle, employee engagement and experience, performance management, HR program execution, and employee relations.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development for a team of HR Business Partners and Generalists, fostering high performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Sets clear objectives and performance expectations for the regional HR team, aligning goals with firm priorities and assessing results from a long-term, strategic perspective.
  • Builds bench strength within the HR organization by identifying and developing future leaders and succession-ready talent.
Firmwide Influence & Innovation
  • Partners across internal firm services, service lines, and geographies to integrate people strategies and operate as "One Firm."
  • Champions innovation, continuous improvement, and the adoption of new tools, technologies, and practices that enhance the employee and leader experience.
  • Represents the People function in cross-functional initiatives and forums addressing matters of firmwide significance.
  • Acts with integrity and professionalism in all matters, protecting confidential information and reinforcing trust in the People function and firm leadership.
  • Demonstrates strong executive presence, credibility, and influence with senior leaders.
  • Participates in professional development activities, industry forums, and networking events to remain current on emerging trends and practices in HR and talent management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Demonstrated expertise across the full talent lifecycle within complex, multimarket organizations, including workforce planning, compensation, talent development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders, applying strong business judgment, risk management, and executive influence to drive firmwide people outcomes and lead highperforming HR teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR
  • Experience supporting professional services, consulting, or similarly complex clientdriven organizations

New York City Pay Transparency
Pursuant to the pay transparency laws of New York State and other local ordinances within the state including (but not limited to) New York City, the salary range displayed is for the New York markets. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
