Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Systems Engineering SME that has experience planning for and managing the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI / ML) capabilities into the customer's analytic processing infrastructure. The Systems Engineer (SE) will support our customer's large High-Performance Computing (HPC) related program.

This program is cutting edge and includes everything from HPC test planning and execution, architecture design and prototyping, and vendor outreach and collaboration support. Program technical areas include commercial cloud technologies, high performance computing, and enterprise architecture.

The program is tactically important to the national security of the United States and the work on these missions are frequently recognized for their results and the Program Integrator will be directly involved in ensuring the government is successful in achieving their planned objectives of this growing, high-profile program.

    The selected Systems Engineer should have significant and relevant experience managing storage solutions.
  • The selected SE should have a strong understanding and experience with Technical, Project, Enterprise Organizational Project Enabling, and Agreement Systems Engineering Process Areas.
  • The systems engineer will analyze, assess, plan, coordinate and monitor the integration of AI / ML capabilities into the customers processing and analytic capability modernization efforts.
  • The systems engineer should have a strong understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring) and understand ML pipeline development, model deployment, and development operations.
  • To be successful, the SE must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholder groups, an ability to proactively engage with these groups to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions.
  • Experience with Cloud Architecture (especially AWS) is a plus as the modernization efforts will largely be deployed withing that cloud architecture. #AJCM


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Required Education and Experience:
    • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience, OR
    • A Bachelor's degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience, OR
    • A Master's degree or PhD in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cloud Architecture/ Cloud Engineer/ Platform Engineering (especially in AWS)
  • AI/ML system design and implementation
    • High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring)
    • Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps
    • Experience with Amazon SageMaker is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholder groups, ability to proactively engage with these groups to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions
  • System security and networking (particularly the implementation of system security on classified systems)
  • Data engineering and data lifecycle management

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
