STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Line Maintenance Mechanics in Schiller Park, Illinois (ORD). This is a full-time, hands-on role supporting aircraft maintenance operations in a line maintenance environment.


Position Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various maintenance functions on company aircraft in accordance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable federal aviation regulations.


Job Details

  • Reports To: Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician
  • Location: Schiller Park, Illinois (ORD)
  • Position Type: Regular Full-Time | Manual Labor

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist approved work by leads within the scheduled shift
  • Ensure completeness of all assigned work documents and records
  • Seek on-the-job training during work shifts to maintain qualification standards
  • Coordinate all activities with lead mechanic or station supervisor
  • Research all pertinent information and materials for scheduled aircraft work
  • Assist in the clean up of maintenance work areas
  • Maintain maintenance areas in accordance with housekeeping standards
  • Maintain tool control accountability and report lost or found tools immediately
  • Perform required data entries
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with MEL, CDL, and NEF program procedures
  • Monitor completion of aircraft records including logbooks, work cards, and engineering documents
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all maintenance documentation
  • Maintain required training per AMTM guidelines prior to performing duties
  • Follow all approved procedures without deviation unless authorized
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and location-specific requirements
  • Must be able to obtain an Airport SIDA badge and U.S. Customs seal if required

Qualifications

  • FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe, Powerplant, or both ratings (required)
  • Recommended two (2) years of experience performing maintenance on:

    • Boeing 747-400
    • Boeing 777F / 777-300
    • Or similar aircraft types

  • Experience may include:

    • Maintenance checks
    • Engine changes
    • Gear changes
    • Structural repairs
    • Flight control rigging
    • Component maintenance

  • Completion of an accredited A&P mechanic training course may be considered
  • Must obtain Engine Run / Taxi qualification when requested by management (if applicable)

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical work
  • Occasionally lift objects over 100 lbs.
  • Frequently lift objects over 50 lbs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be provided where applicable

Work Environment

  • Work may be performed in office, hangar, shop, or open-air line maintenance environments
  • Exposure to outdoor elements and varying conditions
