Job Description Summary:
The Collaboratory: A Center for Jewish Education, housed in the George Washington University's Graduate School of Education and Human Development, advances Jewish education through research, academic programs, public engagement, and professional learning.
The administrative Special Event Coordinator position provides event support for a portfolio of convenings, including multi-day institutes, professional development gatherings, and one-day summits that bring together educators, higher education leaders, and field experts to address topics such as antisemitism, Jewish identity, and Israel education between June and October. The role requires long, on-site days during event dates, with limited hours before and after each convening to assist with planning, preparation, and wrapup logistics.
Duties include:

  • Organize supplies and materials in advance of each convening.
  • Transport supplies between the Collaboratory office and convening locations.
  • Set up of event space (e.g., tables, decor, catering, snacks, etc.).
  • Provide on-site logistical support, including supply runs, printing, room resets, clean-up, and basic tech support.
  • Support post-event breakdown and return supplies to the Collaboratory office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the events.


Requirements
Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
Must be available during business hours on one day during the week of:

  • June 15-18, 2026
  • July 20-23, 2026
  • October 5-8, 2026

Must be on-site, and fully available between 7 AM - 9 PM (exact hours to be determined) on:

  • June 22-25, 2026
  • July 27-29, 2026
  • October 13, 2026

Additional events may be scheduled during this period. Dates and hours may be expanded upon mutual agreement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. Prior experience in treasury operations, cash management, and/or banking,
