Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Manager, Utilities Maintenance based in Nampa, Idaho.

As a Manager, Utilities Maintenance, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to the management of the site utilities systems. The role includes the management of skilled utilities maintenance technicians while ensuring efficient maintenance of site utilities systems (steam, refrigeration, air and water). Additionally, the Manager, Utilities will collaborate transversally with site operations and management staff to align duties with the company's goals and values.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Champion safety, environmental, and quality initiatives, ensuring all team members follow established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Site Support, plant directors and project managers to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks across all sites.
  • Manage reactive maintenance calls by supporting and responding with urgency and accuracy while communicating root cause determinations.
  • Manage third-party vendors and contractors to complete specialized preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the site to ensure safe and reliable equipment. May include equipment rebuilds, emergency repair work, compliance mechanical integrity tasks, project work, etc.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all preventive and corrective utilities work orders, including the usage of labor, parts inventory and other resources in Maximo.
  • Oversee the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and documentation ensuring integrity and accessibility.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Plant Utilities Systems, (including the maintenance of the HVACs & fans on the roofs, boiler room & plant steam systems, ammonia refrigeration systems & plant cooling systems, air compressors & plant air systems, fire system and water systems.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and repairing mechanical, electrical and utility systems to ensure plant equipment and systems operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of utility maintenance staff, ensuring appropriate coverage across the site. Manage daily coverage by coordinating time off for technicians ensuring staffing levels are appropriate across all shifts.
  • Provide support for capital project installations as well as maintenance, repair and replacement of all site facility equipment (boilers, air compressors, HVAC, etc.) and all ammonia refrigeration.
  • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and ensure the reliability of incoming power distribution electrical systems. Proactively analyze data and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency and reliability.
  • Create, review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for various utilities plant equipment repairs, overhaul and preventative maintenance.
Requirements

Education

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A major in engineering or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of utilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Certifications and specific knowledge

  • The following certification is preferred for this role: Certified Industrial Operator (CIRO).
  • Knowledge of ammonia industrial refrigeration, PSM Compliance for ammonia refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, maintenance and repair of cooling towers, boiler room and plant steam systems, plant utilities electrical systems, HVAC systems, planning and implementation of capital projects, steam generation and heat recovery systems is required.
