The Head of Payment Channels will lead the strategic vision and execution of our payment channel capabilities, ensuring that technology serves as a powerful enabler of exceptional client outcomes and sustainable business growth. Responsibilities The Head of Payment Channels will provide strategic leadership for the team responsible for the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive technical product roadmap. This individual will oversee client-facing programmatic payment interfaces, including APIs, ISO messaging standards, and Swift protocols. A primary objective of this role is to establish a suite of scalable, internally reusable services that underpin industrial-grade payment and liquidity tracking capabilities across the Goldman Sachs ecosystem. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to navigate complex technical environments and build strong partnerships with both engineering teams and corporate treasury professionals. Strategic Impact and Commercial Execution Beyond technical delivery, the Head of Payment Channels is expected to drive measurable commercial outcomes. This involves architecting bespoke client solutions and maintaining a rigorous focus on market differentiation to ensure our services remain best-in-class. This leader will collaborate extensively across the TxB organization-partnering with Sales, Engineering, Risk, Design, and Servicing-to deliver a seamless, high-performance payments experience for our global client base. This role will also need to manage Product Strategy: Own the end-to-end product vision and roadmap for Payment Channels, encompassing API-based payment rails, card solutions, real-time payments (RTP), and digital channel experiences; Performance Management: Define, analyze, and optimize product performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), market trend analysis, revenue impact assessments, and client feedback loops; Stakeholder Alignment: Synthesize complex technical processes into clear, compelling strategic narratives to secure stakeholder buy-in and drive firm-wide initiatives: Sales Enablement: Act as a strategic partner to the Sales organization by identifying client needs, providing expert solution recommendations, defining pricing strategies, and leading high-impact product demonstrations.
