CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Aviation Team in Providence, RI, where you will support the delivery of airfield and airport infrastructure projects that connect communities and support regional mobility. In this role, you will oversee construction activities at active aviation facilities, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest standards of quality.



What You'll Do:

    Oversee and coordinate a major aviation construction project or multiple complex initiatives, ensuring work aligns with project requirements, safety standards, and operational constraints
  • Direct on-site inspection and oversight activities for aviation projects, maintaining rigorous quality assurance and contract compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, chairing project meetings and facilitating clear communication among stakeholders
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, verify contractor pay quantities, and manage contract administration records with precision
  • Lead and mentor field staff while collaborating with designers and project teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain project momentum
  • Champion safety, regulatory compliance, and innovative solutions that keep projects on track and within budget
  • Travel locally and occasionally out-of-area to support project needs


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of construction inspection experience required, including at least 5 years supporting aviation projects
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interpret complex contracts
  • Deep knowledge of construction industry standards and best practices
  • Physical ability to navigate active job sites and adapt to varying field conditions
  • NICET Level IV certification or PE license preferred

Salary Range:

$48.07 - $57.69

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
