HDR is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Advisor to join our highly collaborative team in Central Texas on a part-time basis. The primary duty of the Senior Technical Advisor is to assist senior managers in efforts related to the preparation of permit applications, development of strategic permitting approaches, compliance documentation, supporting studies, and management of the permit application process for major infrastructure projects primarily in Texas. The Sr. Technical Advisor will be responsible for the preparation for, and participation in, regulatory agency meetings and public meetings/hearings as required by the various permit/approval processes and client coordination, agency consultation and follow-up. Projects may involve water and sewer infrastructure, solid waste, and energy. Position will be based in Austin, Texas office locations. Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Environmental Science, Planning or related field, with MS desirable.
- 6+ years of experience in environmental permitting projects is required, as well as a demonstrated and broad-based knowledge of TCEQ regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with permitting issues associated with a broad range of environmental permits is desirable.
- Permit experience in Texas is desirable for the position.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multidisciplinary teams and developing documents for a wide range of infrastructure projects is necessary.
- Proven track record in large and small projects is required.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Self-starter with excellent bilingual writing and communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and project management abilities are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- A minimum of 10 years technical and/or field experience in complex environmental planning projects
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- Technical and/or field experience dealing with environmental impact issues, associated permit processes and documentation preparation/review
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
