What to Expect
Tesla is
seeking anexperienced Senior Structural Engineer with a proventrack recordin the design and delivery of semiconductor research and production fabrication facilities (fabs). The ideal candidate will bring deepexpertisein high-precision structural systems, vibration-sensitive equipmentstructures andfoundations,and integrated multidisciplinary coordination.
This
roleis asenior technicalleaderwhowill independently manage complex structural challenges in high-tech environments structural design across all phases-from conceptual planning through construction-while ensuring full alignment with project-specific requirementsand interface directly with cross-functional stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Lead structural engineering design for semiconductor fabrication facilities,includingfoundation systems for sensitive equipment,Vibrationisolationand control strategies (dynamic analysis)
- Conduct advanced structural analysis using finite element modeling (FEM) tools for dynamic loads, thermal expansion, and vibration transfer paths
- Provide technical leadership in multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating closely withCivil, A/MEP/F, Process, Controls andCommissioning teams
- Develop and enforce design standards and procedures specific to high-tech facility construction,includingtolerance specificationsand interface coordination with specialty systems (e.g., chemical gas delivery, wastewater treatment)
- Perform QA/QC reviews of both internal and external design deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Support project delivery phasesincluding preliminary design and planning estimates with limited scoping, design development,constructability reviews,and construction administration
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior stakeholders/leadership, presenting design options, trade-offs, and risk assessments clearly and concisely
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Civilor Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10years of professional experience in structural engineering, with at least5years focused exclusively on semiconductor fabrication facilities (fabs)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing in the State of Texas (or eligible for reciprocity.Registered Structural Engineer (SE) licensepreferred
- Demonstratedexpertisein vibration analysis,controland mitigation for precision equipment
- Deep familiarity with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC) and semiconductor-specific design standards
- Experience with project delivery in fast-paced, integrated owner-led environments
- Strong communication skills: ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and secure cross-functional buy-in
