Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide a range of office-based and field-based services to manage and monitor rapid rehousing and transition-in-place activities for Veteran families, including direct client support. Engage participants to assess housing preferences, explain program requirements, and guide eligible households in making informed housing decisions.

Actively assist Veterans throughout the housing search process, including accompanying them to view potential units, to ensure engagement and timely placement. Support participants in obtaining required documentation, advocate on their behalf with landlords and community partners, and promote self-sufficiency, community integration, and long-term housing stability.

Complete all administrative and documentation tasks necessary for the effective review, maintenance, and monitoring of an assigned caseload.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Work with landlords to identify available housing and support placement for high-risk Veterans. Provide advocacy, mediation, and problem-solving to help participants secure and maintain housing.
  • Assist participants in finding and choosing housing, and communicate effectively with landlords, case managers, and partner agencies. Serve as a liaison to support housing stability and prevent eviction.
  • Educate participants on lease agreements, tenant rights, and responsibilities. Assess housing barriers and help identify appropriate housing options and services.
  • Coordinate with HUD-VASH and other partners to connect participants to vouchers and resources. Help gather documents and complete housing applications.
  • Build relationships with landlords and housing providers to expand available housing options. Promote program benefits and address landlord-tenant concerns.
  • Work closely with case managers to align housing plans with participant needs and ensure compliance with program guidelines and housing laws.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes, reports, and required data systems (e.g., HMIS).
  • Support participants in developing skills for successful tenancy, such as communication, conflict resolution, and basic home care.
  • Provide referrals to community resources and support services as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and deliver strong customer service in all interaction Demonstrate Exceptional customer service, in Everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities."







ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:



EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree and/or a minimum of two-year degree in Human Services related field or an equivalent amount of experience in the Human Services or Business field is required in lieu of degree. Real Estate license is a plus.



EXPERIENCE: 2 years' experience in Human Services or Business field. Experience in "Housing First" philosophy and strategies, tenant's rights and responsibilities as well as "strength based" case management, is a plus.



ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.



LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.



VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice. Must have ability to travel independently throughout the services area.



OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.



LANGUAGE: Fluency in English is required; Spanish is a plus.
