Could you be the full-time hybrid Senior Legal Counsel in Pittsburgh, PA, US we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your legal and contractual expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal support and expertise, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks to protect and advance Alstom's business activities. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business, including Procurement, management, and external counsel, while advising on contractual matters, managing claims and disputes, and delivering legal training to the Procurement community-and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Reviewing, preparing, and drafting contracts or other legal documents to ensure compliance with current legislation and appropriate risk management. ,



  • Providing accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice to stakeholders across the organization. ,



  • Managing claims, including advising on the nature of legal actions, pre-litigation, arbitration disputes, or other dispute resolutions. ,



  • Advising management on risks associated with strategic business issues and collaborating on the development and implementation of effective strategies. ,



  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including the Alstom Code of Ethics. ,



  • Escalating critical legal issues to appropriate levels of management. ,



  • Communicating with and managing third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors. ,



  • Mitigating legal risks through the implementation of company policies and procedures. ,



  • Staying updated on legislative changes, particularly those impacting the business, procurement community, and railway industry. ,



  • Leading specific, high-stakes negotiations as requested by the VP Legal IP & Legal Procurement."

  • JD degree is required. ,



  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm. ,



  • Preferably licensed to practice law in more than one jurisdiction (civil law and common law country). ,



  • Familiar with international contracts. ,



  • Very good knowledge of the law and of contract law. ,



  • Procurement activities knowledge. ,



  • Previous exposure to international practice through studies or work experience. ,



  • Knowledgeable of intellectual property. ,



  • Knowledge and expertise in the railway and/or infrastructure industries is preferred.
