Engineering professional who applies engineering principles to the planning, design and oversite of new products. Responsible for Product definition and requirements, technical assessments, cost, and schedule by interacting with Sales, Senior Management and valued customers. This position will perform design engineering work from concept stage to production and direct mechanical and controls personnel as required within the project plan. An ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional, with the ability to multitask on various projects in various phases. You will be working in a very dynamic, fast-paced environment with short schedules and tight deadlines without compromising the accuracy of work.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates based on new opportunities that contribute toward corporate growth.
  • Develop concepts, present idea's, design, calculate, budget and schedule solutions of automated equipment.
  • Prepare 'Phase Gate' proposals that include project cost and timeline on a per phase basis.
  • Customer facing role - able to present concepts to management, internal team members and direct customers.
  • Must be familiar with Semiconductor standards, Cleanroom Dryrom electrical codes and safety
  • Establish specifications needed for the development, manufacturing and testing of complex capital equipment.
  • Must have willingness to support all phases of product development criteria.
  • Working manager that contributes to the design development - fluent in operating CAD design software and able to guide controls engineering on automation objectives.
  • Lead design review presentations with internal and external customers for design discussion and approval.
  • Mentor others within the engineering group.
  • Work closely with supply chain and account managers in component selection for achieving optimal cost and lead time for the systems.
  • Support Manufacturing organization during system build to ensure strict adherence to design, customer specifications and Industry Standards.
  • Work with Field Service personnel to provide onsite engineering support to customers for installation, operation, retrofit and repair of designed and manufactured systems.
  • Design within cost estimates, manufacturability, serviceability and final test criteria.
  • Will be required to occasionally work outside business hours to meet timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience in related markets
  • Minimum 5 yrs. of experience in the Semiconductor Equipment Design
  • Minimum 5 yrs. of experience in managing/running development projects
  • Proficiency and current experience in CAD - prefer Inventor and Solidworks.

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of PLC controls architecture, power distribution and distributed I/O.
  • Experience with various communication protocols and network setup for industrial equipment, Ethernet, USB, Serial and Devicenet
  • Experience with PID loops for temperature, flow, pressure and motion control
  • General understanding of SEMI standards, UL, NEC and NFPA79
  • Hands-On contributor that can analyze, debug and provide corrective actions.
  • Show initiative and a sense of ownership by learning to be self-sufficient at your task, but quick to ask questions when uncertain.
  • Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines
  • Presents a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization
