Role: IT Senior Project Manager

Location: Columbia, SC, Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, other days as required by project planned deliverables)

Duration: 06 Months (Contract to Hire)


Credit Check must be processed during pre-screens.

Day to Day:

  • Lead several projects (one to five) in a strong matrix environment, executing Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
  • Developing and monitoring project plans, communication plans, risk management plans, and project artifacts from project initiation to post-implementation/closure.
  • Ensures project deliverables are complete on time, on budget, within scope, and in accordance with the client's standards:


Responsible daily for the development, execution, and maintenance of project plans and project communications:

  • facilitating effective communications between all parties involved in the project, including meetings, correspondence/recaps, status reports and other project artifacts per BCBSSC standards.
  • Monitors resource requirements and assigned deliverables based on project specifications. Ensures resources are assigned to meet project objectives while managing project hours budgeted.
  • Identifies and manages tasks and issues that impact the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort to ensure delivery as planned.
  • Provides both written and verbal project status updates upon request.


Required Technologies:

Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint Online, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Teams, etc.)

The candidate should be familiar with IT SDLC as this is a Senior-level position.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate's degree in any major.

Required Work Experience: 5 years IT experience in a leadership capacity, including 2 years of experience leading two or more concurrent project teams. Completion of the BCBSSC Training Program for Project Management may substitute for one year of experience.
