Job Summary:

Join the National MS Society at an exciting time of growth as we invest in expanding two of our premier fundraising markets in the West Region!

As the Assistant Director, Signature Events, you will serve as the primary fundraising lead for Dinner of Champions: Las Vegas while supporting the continued growth of Dinner of Champions: Phoenix. These two signature events with significant opportunity to expand philanthropic impact and generate more than $1 million annually in support of the Society's mission.

This role is much more than event planning. You'll partner with influential volunteer leaders, corporate executives, philanthropists, and community champions to build meaningful relationships, secure transformational sponsorships, and create exceptional fundraising experiences that inspire generosity. From recruiting volunteer leadership and cultivating donors to driving revenue strategy and executing world-class events, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of two of the Society's most important fundraising markets.

Location Requirement:

This is amarket-based rolesupporting ourWest Region -- New Mexico-Arizona-Nevada Chapter. The position requires regular, in-person attendance at meetings, constituent interactions, and events as well as travel as required and necessary up to approximately 50% of the work time. During the remaining time, work is primarily conducted remotely from either a home office or a National MS Society workspace (Society workspace not provided in all geographies).

Preferred location(s): Candidates must be based and able to work within the Las Vegas, NV area.

Compensation | Benefits:

The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $60,000-$69,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate'sgeographic location, consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead Signature Fundraising Experiences

  • Lead the strategy, planning, execution, and continuous improvement of a portfolio of premier fundraising events, including galas, luncheons, and cocktail receptions.

  • Deliver exceptional donor and guest experiences while ensuring alignment with National MS Society standards and brand expectations.

  • Identify opportunities to innovate, elevate the event experience, and strengthen fundraising performance year over year.

Own Revenue Growth

  • Serve as the primary fundraising lead for assigned events, owning revenue performance from planning through post-event stewardship.

  • Develop and execute strategies that maximize sponsorship revenue, individual giving, ticket sales, auction performance, and Fund the Mission.

  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze progress toward goals, and proactively adapt strategies to drive results.

Build Meaningful Relationships

  • Recruit, engage, and steward volunteer Event Chairs, committees, sponsors, donors, and community leaders.

  • Cultivate long-term relationships that strengthen engagement, increase philanthropic investment, and expand the Society's network of supporters.

  • Inspire volunteers and stakeholders to become ambassadors for the mission while creating an exceptional volunteer experience.

Drive Market Strategy

  • Translate national fundraising strategies into thoughtful, locally relevant campaigns that reflect the unique opportunities within your market.

  • Identify new partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, and community connections that contribute to sustainable fundraising growth.

  • Collaborate with regional leadership to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

Use Data to Drive Decisions

  • Analyze fundraising trends, donor behavior, and campaign performance to identify opportunities for increased engagement and revenue growth.

  • Utilize the Society's CRM and fundraising technology platforms to maintain accurate donor records, execute communications, generate reports, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Maintain confidentiality while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and data privacy regulations.

Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Partner closely with the Assistant Vice President, Regional Vice President, and cross-functional teams to execute integrated fundraising strategies.

  • Share campaign progress, revenue forecasts, and growth opportunities while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.

  • Support regional and national initiatives that strengthen the overall Signature Events program.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, sponsorship, sales, business development, or relationship management.

  • A proven ability to cultivate donors, sponsors, volunteers, or community partners.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to build credibility and influence a variety of stakeholders.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar donor management systems.

  • Confidence using data and reporting to inform fundraising strategy and improve campaign performance.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the initiative to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and continuously improve results.

  • Previous nonprofit development experience is highly desirable.
