University Information Technology Services (UITS) is the University of Arizona's central technology organization. UITS delivers enterprise and specialized technology services that support students, faculty, researchers, staff, and campus partners. The project manager will lead cross functional projects in University Information Technology Services (UITS) division. The project manager is the single point of contact who oversees all aspects of the development and implementation of projects including detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, project deliverables and status reports. This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position. Candidates working anywhere in the U.S. may be considered for a remote assignment. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Develops and executes comprehensive project plans for multiple complex IT
projects to establish clear objectives, milestones, and strategic resource requirements for the organization.
- Mitigates project risks and issues by implementing innovative risk
management strategies and solutions to maintain project timelines and deliverables.
- Manages project documentation, including schedules, status reports,
and decision logs using standardized methodologies and tools to provide transparency and consistency for stakeholders.
- Manages stakeholder expectations and collaborates with organization
leads to ensure project expectations are communicated.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to lead, motivate, and assign tasks to team members,
fostering a collaborative environment.
- Strong verbal
and written skills for negotiating with stakeholders, reporting progress, and management expectations.
- Ability to manage project schedules and set milestones to ensure
on-time delivery.
- Ability to proactively identifying potential risks, developing
mitigation strategies, and solving issues to keep projects on track.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Jira, Smartsheets) and
industry-specific methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in Higher Education.
- Experience leading Network Operations projects focused on network equipment replacement.
- Experience leading CyberSecurity Operations projects focused on creating and implementing cybersecurity standards governance plan.
- Experience leading IT projects across multiple disciplines including networking, support and system analyst teams.

The Rate of Pay Field represents the University of Arizona's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The University considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal equity. The Grade Range represent a full range of career compensation growth over time. The university offers compensation growth opportunities within its career architecture. | Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report |
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
