We have an exciting opening for a Machinist B located in New Hope, MN. This position will support machining operations of division's Value Streams. Operate more than one type of production machine tools such as grinders, hobs, manuals, machining centers, mills, lathes on a limited range of production work, involving close tolerances and set-ups which are exacting but not usually highly involved or difficult with minimal supervision. Perform set-ups, diameter and depth offset adjustments with limited supervisory assistance. Participate in continuous improvement activities in cycle time reduction, increased tool life and improve part quality.

Your main responsibilities would include -

  • Determine sequence of operations by studying blueprints, specifications, and work orders
  • Prepare machine for production by positioning and securing tools and part holding fixtures. Ability to use, understand and operate all inspection equipment
  • Prepare all set ups, and change fixtures and tooling for existing products
  • Upload and download programs through DNC system
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls while maintaining tight tolerance objectives
  • Ability to use CMM and all hand inspection equipment (including validating locations with height gage and surface plate)
  • Possess working knowledge of SPC
  • Ensures operation of the equipment by following all Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) instructions
  • Completes production and quality logs
  • Maintain fluid levels on machines, including coolant, spindle, and hydraulic fluids
  • Maintain chip removal and area housekeeping with 5S and Safety Procedures. Maintain required safety practices for operation and notify Lead or Supervisor immediately of equipment problems
  • Performs other duties, including assignments to higher or lower classification jobs as assigned by management (coolant tanks, etc.)


Looking for talent with -

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Preferred: 2 year school
  • The ability to read and correctly interpret work instructions, process sheets, etc.
  • Verbal communication at a level to provide meaningful feedback to internal and external customers.
  • Basic Math Skills with the ability to convert metric measurements into standard measurements.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Competitive Compensation

  • The hourly pay for this position is $31.25 per hour with the ability to earn up to $36.62.

  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
