Production Associate Lead

Provides leadership and direction for teams of employees on assigned shifts to meet expected targets in the areas of production, quality and cost.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Leads the day-to-day production functions including assigning work schedules, assigning tasks, monitoring quality, providing advanced troubleshooting on more complex issues, and ensures production schedules are followed. Responsible for the daily production output, quality and delivery.
  • Manages fluctuating workloads of team members to ensure effective departmental operations. Alerts leadership of any significant coverage gaps.
  • Trains team members and acts as a resource to team members by assisting with problem resolution and providing informal coaching.
  • Provides input into team members' performance appraisals and alerts leadership of any performance problems. May provide input on hiring or other human resources functions.
  • Prepares all direct materials via work orders and indirect material for production consumption.
  • Proactively seeks process, cost and quality improvements. Monitors and checks products produced to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Performs corrective action activities to control/prevent production issues such as scrap and defects and reports any issues to the supervisor. Responsible for the disposition of the lot/material and/or product affected by process defects. Ensures data has been collected and reported to the supervisor.
  • Maintains high levels of safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Performs day-to-day production activities on the floor which may include performing assembly and operating equipment.
  • Tracking and collects process data to control and monitor key performance indicators, perform reporting and monitor compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years' experience on the production floor which includes possessing multiple skills/facets within the area supported (required skills vary based on business unit).



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work under tight deadlines while maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Demonstrated advance troubleshooting skills to provide guidance to team members.
  • Ability to make independent and effective decisions.
  • Ability to successfully learn new skills and processes.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to provide effective guidance and training to team members.
  • Primary job functions may involve extensive standing, walking, lifting and bending.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs (requirement varies based on business unit).
  • Compensation range $23.00 - $33.00 depends upon experience.
