Team Leader, Aircraft Maintenance Control

The Team Leader, Aircraft Maintenance Control guides the maintenance control team as they support the repair and return-to-service of the Intelsat Wi-Fi system on customer aircraft. This role is a conduit between maintenance control and our operations teams to ensure that work is prioritized and executed efficiently, and a valuable resource for the maintenance controllers, ensuring they have the ability to effectively accomplish daily tasks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Provide oversight for aircraft maintenance controllers, ensuring that all maintenance plans are executed successfully, and departmental processes are implemented.
  • Prioritize the daily workload for maintenance controllers to meet the needs of our airlines.
  • Monitor communications with our customer, which include emails, phone calls, and meetings, and ensure that all requests for information receive an acceptable response.
  • Maintain a 24/7 schedule that provides adequate and balanced coverage.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports and provide constructive feedback that promotes growth and development.
  • Accomplish projects and assignments as needed, which are sometimes broad in nature, and occasionally require engagement with cross functional teams.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and drive opportunities to improve processes and tools to increase the overall effectiveness of the team.
  • Mentor and guide on best practices for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Review and redline installation documents and maintenance procedures.
  • Drive hiring process for new team members
  • Responsible for onboarding and training processes

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelors degree in aviation related field or equivalent work experience
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Avionics maintenance experience
  • Aircraft operations and maintenance planning experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance manuals and parts catalogs
  • This role is subject to ITAR / EAR - candidates must be a US Person

Preferred

  • Previous experience in aircraft maintenance management role
  • Aircraft maintenance experience with variety of aircraft manufacturers
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
