DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position ensures that procurement activities follow established rules while supporting staff throughout the purchasing process. The role helps develop documents, review proposals, and maintain accurate records. As a Procurement Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Policy Application: Apply procurement rules to guide purchasing decisions and support staff
- Process Oversight: Manage bid reviews, contract actions, and related procurement steps
- Vendor Coordination: Address performance concerns and recommend corrective actions
- Small Business Support: Assist small businesses with registration, opportunities, and outreach activities
- System Expertise: Use procurement systems to track activity, review funding, and maintain documentation
- Team Collaboration: Work with legal, fiscal, and program staff to resolve issues and improve processes

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dunmore. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience performing technical purchasing or contract management work; and a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, project, or operations management, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
