DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support for agency operations while also coordinating the Court Facility Dog Program to support children, families, and victims throughout the judicial process and community outreach initiatives. Within this role, you will perform the following duties:
- Clerical Support: Assist with daily administrative tasks, document preparation, and office operations
- Communication Work: Manage calls, greet visitors, and support staff with information and updates
- Record Management: Maintain files, update databases, and ensure accurate tracking of agency documents
- Dog Program Coordination: Organize visit schedules, maintain records, and support court and community activities involving the facility dog
- Dog Care Duties: Oversee the dog's well-being, grooming, appointments, and behavior monitoring
- Community Support: Represent the dog program during outreach activities and maintain required handler training
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- This position also requires proof of pairing with a facility dog and training through an Assistance Dogs International (ADI)-accredited organization to work in a pre-arranged facility and/or accompany clients in public settings. The training must be completed no later than (6) months from the date of your application. Proof will be requested and verified directly by the organization as a part of the interview process.
- You must possess a minimum of one year of documented full-time experience acting as a facility service dog handler, including responsibility for the dog's handling, routine care, behavior management in public settings, and coordination within a secure or regulated facility environment? Documented experience includes paid employment, volunteering, or self-employment.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
