SUMMARY: The Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state semi-monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role reviews and audits payroll data, including timecards, time and attendance records, employee accruals, taxes, deductions, and garnishments, to ensure payroll accuracy. The Payroll Analyst serves as a resource for managers and employees, resolves payroll-related issues, supports reporting and reconciliations, and drives process improvements to ensure efficient payroll operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.



  • Processes semi-monthly and weekly multi-state payrolls for 1,800+ employees utilizing ADP Enterprise and ADP eTime.
  • Reviews, audits, and validate payroll data, including new hires, rehires, terminations, status changes, earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments.
  • Processes and audit employee timecards, accrual balances, leave requests, and time and attendance records to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Administers ADP eTime, including accrual configuration, system updates, testing, patches, and user support.
  • Reconciles payroll reports, tax filings, benefit deductions, and payroll-related accounts.
    Investigates and resolves payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Prepares payroll analytics, audits, and executive reporting using ADP reporting tools, advanced Excel, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Develops and maintains payroll procedures, process documentation, and training materials.
    Identifies opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, efficiency, and compliance through automation and technology enhancements.
  • Supports payroll system implementations, upgrades, testing, and special projects.
  • Maintains the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of payroll and employee data.
  • Partners with Human Resources, Finance, and management to ensure efficient payroll operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.


EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent experience required.

EXPERIENCE



  • 5 years of experience in progressive payroll experience with multi-state semi-monthly payroll processing, time and attendance administration, timecard auditing, accrual management, payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and payroll reporting. Proven ability to manage high-volume payroll operations, ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance, leverage payroll technologies and AI-driven tools to improve efficiency, and resolve complex payroll issues while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence5 years of progressive payroll experience with multi-state semi-monthly payroll processing, time and attendance administration, timecard auditing, accrual management, payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and payroll reporting. Proven ability to manage high-volume payroll operations, ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance, leverage payroll technologies and AI-driven tools to improve efficiency, and resolve complex payroll issues while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
  • Experience processing semi-monthly payrolls, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, and off-cycle payments.
  • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and other HRIS/payroll applications.
  • Experience utilizing payroll technology and AI-driven tools to improve payroll accuracy, reporting, efficiency, and employee service.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA preferred.
  • FPC Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax fundamentals, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of time and attendance systems, timecard auditing, accrual management, and leave tracking.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Ability to identify payroll tax issues and partner effectively with payroll tax specialist to ensure accurate resolution.
  • Strong reconciliation, reporting, and auditing skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll processing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively explain payroll concepts to employees and managers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and payroll information with discretion.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build collaborative relationships across Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and business units.
