Could you be the full-time Designated Supervisor for Locomotive Engineers (DSLE) in California we're looking for?

This role will be based on-site in Pomona, CA and is a fixed term (6-month) contract with potential to extend depending on business needs.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your organizational and leadership expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You'll work alongside a collaborative and safety-conscious team of professionals.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient and safe scheduling of train crew operations. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business, including dispatchers, trainmasters, and other departments, to coordinate crew assignments, maintain compliance with regulations, and manage crew availability. You'll also handle emergency crew calls, oversee crew changes, and ensure a seamless operation of the rail system.

You'll specifically take care of scheduling and notifying train crews of their assignments, but also maintaining accurate records and addressing customer complaints to ensure the highest level of service quality.

We'll look to you for:




  • Assisting in the scheduling of train assignments



  • Notifying train crews of their assignments in a timely manner



  • Maintaining accurate records of crew assignments, hours worked, and availability



  • Coordinating with dispatchers, trainmasters, and other departments to ensure smooth operations



  • Monitoring crew availability and managing crew changes as needed



  • Ensuring compliance with labor agreements, safety regulations, and company policies



  • Handling emergency crew calls and reassignments as necessary



  • Providing excellent customer service to crew members and other stakeholders



  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation related to crew scheduling



  • Coordinating vehicle transportation for crew assignments as required



  • Investigating and addressing customer complaints

  • Degree in Transportation, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience



  • Previous experience in crew management or scheduling (preferred)



  • Experience or understanding of supervisory roles within an FRA-regulated railroad environment



  • Knowledge of FRA regulations on operating rules, GCOR, timetable, and special instructions



  • Familiarity with the physical layout and operation of the Authority's rail system



  • Strong people and management skills to ensure professional interaction with the operations team

Pay Range

$90,000 to $105,000 depending on experience/qualifications.

This position is eligible for Railroad Retirement.
