What to Expect
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the deployment and scale-up of high-precision sensor and actuator systems across our battery manufacturing tool fleet. You will own end-to-end deployment workflows from hands-on installation and validation to building diagnostics and predictive models, while partnering closely with process, equipment, and software teams to operationalize sensors at scale. This role sits within the GFTX Cell team, responsible for high volume in-house cell manufacturing lines.
What You'll Do
- Drive continuous improvement of sensor deployment processes
using first-principles analysis and structured experimentation (DOE, root cause analysis) - Author and maintain test specifications, calibration
procedures, and SOPs for sensor installation, qualification, and maintenance - Own failure analysis for sensor systems and collect test
data, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions - Define measurement conditions and acceptance criteria, and partner
with cross-functional teams to validate and ratify pass/fail limits - Develop software-based diagnostic toolkits and
ML/statistical predictive models to enable proactive maintenance by process and equipment teams - Apply data-driven methods to accelerate tool-to-tool
matching and fleet-level performance uniformity (add a brief definition of "matching" for external readers)
