The Opportunity

Workiva is at a pivotal moment. With $1B+ in revenue, our benefits infrastructure needs to match our global footprint and operational complexity.

We are seeking an established Director of Global Benefits to serve as the architect and hands-on operator of our global health, wellness, and retirement strategy. This is a true player-coach role for a leader who thrives at both high-level strategy and operational execution.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Total Rewards, you will develop the global benefits philosophy, oversee multi-million-dollar benefit budgets, present regularly to the Benefits Committee, and personally drive execution, vendor implementations, and day-to-day administration across a lean team structure.

The Impact You'll Have

  • Global Strategy & Governance: Design and implement a multi-year global benefits roadmap that aligns with Workiva's corporate culture and financial objectives.
  • Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to regional HR leaders and business stakeholders, providing data-driven insights into benefit trends and cost-management strategies. Work closely with payroll, accounting, and the People Operations and Services teams.
  • Leadership: Lead a high-performing team (Benefits Manager, Europe; Benefits Manager, Americas; and a Benefits Analyst) and cultivate professional growth.
  • Fiscal Stewardship: Direct the global benefits budget, leading negotiations with brokers and carriers to optimize the "spend-to-value" ratio.

Who You Are

  • The Strategist: You don't just look at next year's renewal; you look at the 3-year trend. You understand how benefits impact the P&L and employee retention.
  • The Builder: You excel at setting strategy but willingly roll up your sleeves to write communications, audit plan compliance, build analytics models, and execute administrative workflows alongside your team.
  • The Communicator: You possess executive presence and the ability to present complex financial and benefit models to senior leadership and the Benefits Committee.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Global Total Rewards or Benefits, with a proven track record of designing, governing, and scaling comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement programs across 15+ countries in the Americas (US, Canada, Brazil), Europe (Netherlands, UK, Spain, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Italy), and APAC (Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan), with at least 5 years in a people manager leadership role within a global, public Technology company (SaaS experience preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of global benefit regulations and significant experience with enterprise HCM systems (Workday preferred).
  • Consultative Approach: Exceptional ability to influence without authority and build strong partnerships across Finance, Legal, and regional People & Culture teams.
