The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) practices as an expert in the application of the nursing process and theory within a specialty area. The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to advance patient care directly in the role of expert clinical practitioner and indirectly in the roles of educator, consultant, researcher, change agent, collaborator, clinical leader, role model, and patient advocate. The CNS will support the ICU and IMC, including CVICU, Neuro ICU, Neurosurgery, Stroke, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU and Cardiac ICU patients along with Intermediate Care Unit patients of the same types.

Work schedule: 8hour exempt. No holidays or weekends required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in a CNS track from an accredited school of nursing or grandfathered in per MD BON regulations.
  • RN License Maryland State Board of Nursing.
  • Current designation as an APRN from the Maryland Board of Nursing required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the area of specialty practice required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
