Job Title: Junior Systems Administrator (Backup Focus) Location: Greater Philadelphia Area (Kennett Square, PA) - Hybrid Position Overview We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team with a focus on backup operations and system support, including managing and monitoring enterprise backup environments (e.g., NetBackup). This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional with hands-on systems experience who is looking to grow within systems/infrastructure-not desktop support. Key Responsibilities * Monitor and support enterprise backup environments (NetBackup or similar tools) to ensure successful completion of backup jobs * Troubleshoot failed backups and escalate issues as needed * Assist with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability * Support day-to-day server and systems administration tasks across Windows and/or Linux environments * Perform routine system checks, maintenance, and documentation * Collaborate with infrastructure teams on system upgrades, patching, and ongoing support * Maintain clear documentation of backup processes, schedules, and incidents * Assist in monitoring system performance and identifying operational issues Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field * Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience working with servers, systems administration, or IT infrastructure * Basic understanding of: * Windows or Linux operating systems * Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) * Backup concepts (full/incremental backups, retention policies) * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills * Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment Preferred Qualifications * Exposure to NetBackup or other enterprise backup tools (Veeam, Rubrik, etc.) * Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) * Experience gained through co-ops or programs (e.g., Drexel or similar technical programs) * Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus What We're Looking For * Early-career IT professional * Strong interest in systems/infrastructure (not desktop support) * Someone comfortable working in an operations-focused environment * Motivated, coachable, and eager to develop into a full Systems Administrator Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Kennett Square, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
