Albemarle is hiring for a Site Project Manager / Engineer in Pasadena, Texas. This position will be onsite.

What you will do

  • Lead capital projects from concept development through commissioning, serving as the single point of accountability for project delivery
  • Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with engineering, operations, and site leadership
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including cost estimates, schedules, risk mitigation strategies, and resource planning
  • Manage project performance to meet or exceed safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership
  • Oversee engineering design, contractor performance, and EPC activities to ensure high-quality execution
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal project controls while promoting continuous improvement and constructability best practices

What you bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience leading capital projects in manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence diverse stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, including cost forecasting, scheduling, and risk management
  • Working knowledge of process safety management (PSM), management of change (MOC), and relevant regulatory requirements

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments
  • Background in front-end loading (FEL) and stage-gate project development processes
  • Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors
  • Familiarity with SAP Project Systems (PS) or similar project management tools
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, and communicate project business cases
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in complex project environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
