Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Department of Pediatrics

Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting for the next Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Appointment will be made at the Associate or Full Professor rank of the Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

The selected candidate will join a leading academic medical center and nationally recognized pediatric cardiovascular program. This position may include clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and will actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

We welcome applications from individuals who have substantial experience in clinical program development, faculty mentorship, and academic leadership, with a strong background in advancing innovative clinical care, research, and educational programs in pediatric cardiology.

The Division Chief will partner with departmental and health system leadership to support strategic growth across pediatric cardiovascular services and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration across UCSF's clinical and research enterprises. The successful candidate will help foster excellence in patient care, medical education, scholarship, and faculty development across the division's missions.

The Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology will benefit from substantial institutional resources to expand interdisciplinary clinical, research, and education programs across UCSF's tripartite mission.

Required Qualifications:



  • Medical degree and eligibility for California medical licensure
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
  • Experience fostering a culture of respect, access, and belonging within academic medicine


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Board certified in Pediatrics
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentorship
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proven track record of program development and faculty engagement
  • Established scholarly achievement in clinical, translational, and/or basic research
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategically in academic and clinical settings


The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $161,700-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
