Duties and Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Digital Content Coordinator is a hands-on, tactical role focused entirely on executing a critical website consolidation and content migration project within WordPress. This time-limited temporary position will assist in auditing, migrating, formatting, and restructuring digital content from multiple platforms into a unified web ecosystem. The ideal candidate has practical technical comfort with WordPress block editors, an exceptional eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining clean, user-friendly, and accessible web experiences.
Key Responsibilities

  • Website Migration & WordPress Execution: Actively migrate pages, posts, and media assets from legacy sites into the primary target WordPress environment. Build out and format pages using modern WordPress templates, blocks, or designated patterns according to brand guidelines.
  • Content Auditing & Restructuring: Review existing web content for accuracy, relevance, and redundancy. Assist in implementing a streamlined site architecture by setting up redirects, archiving outdated material, and consolidating overlapping documentation.
  • Quality Assurance & UX Alignment: Proofread and format content during migration to ensure exceptional readability, clean typography, and seamless user experience (UX). Verify that all internal and external hyperlinks remain functional across the newly consolidated layout.
  • Digital Accessibility & Compliance: Ensure all migrated web pages and uploaded assets (such as PDFs and images) meet university web standards, formatting rules, and modern digital accessibility practices (e.g., proper heading hierarchies, descriptive alt text for images).
  • Basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Apply basic traditional SEO on-page optimizations during migration, including configuring appropriate meta titles, page descriptions, and maintaining clean URL structures.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications
Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated, practical experience managing content or building pages within WordPress.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editorial skills with high attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility principles (WCAG 2.1) and user-centric design.
  • Ability to work independently on repetitive technical tasks while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to closely coordinate progress and handoffs.
