Description

The Senior Director of Operations - Skilled Communities oversees a specific division comprised of skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities. Responsibilities and oversight include the overall promotion of Lifespark vision, mission, and values, ownership reporting and responsibility, regulatory performance, quality of care and delivery, employee relations, hiring, financial performance, revenue growth, profitability, controlling accounts receivables and billing practices, meeting or exceeding company goals and cash collections.

Position: Senior Director of Operations for Skilled Communities

Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience

Service Area: Twin Cities Metro area. Plus, mileage reimbursement of 72.5 cents per mile.

Schedule: 1.0 FTE, Full - Time / Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (occasional after hours for events and community support)

Position Functions & Responsibilities:



  • Provide direction to Executive Directors and direct reports in achieving company mission, values, goals, and objectives.
  • Foster an environment of goal achievement.
  • Work cooperatively with the facility management staff and consultants in developing and working a business plan that focuses on all aspects of facility operations, including setting priorities and job assignments.
  • Monitor each facility's financial performance, quality initiatives, and customer service programs.
  • Execution in partnership with direct reports of key performance metrics and operational analytics achieving the goals budgeted and approved by the ownership.
  • Evaluate direct report performance, provide feedback, assist, and observe, coach and discipline as needed.
  • Develop an environment that allows for creative thinking, problem solving, and empowerment in the development of facility management team.
  • Oversee and conduct regular rounds to monitor overall operations delivery of nursing care, operation of support departments, cleanliness and appearance of the facility; morale of the staff; and ensure resident needs are being addressed.
  • Provide oversight of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
  • Identify areas of potential legal liability and develop and implement an administrative intervention or risk management program to minimize or eliminate exposure.
  • Exhibit positive customer service to both internal and external customers through the ongoing support and implementation of customer service initiatives and business objectives.
  • Utilize survey information to address areas of importance as defined by our customers.
  • Ensure consultants and other support resources are appropriately utilized, staff are appropriately trained, and a high level of interdepartmental teamwork is maintained.
  • Ensure the building and grounds are appropriately maintained and that equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and orderly, and any hazardous conditions are addressed.
  • Monitor Human Resources practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies and to ensure practices that maintain high morale and staff retention include effective communication, prompt problem resolution, and all staff engagement practices maintaining a proactive work environment.
  • Develop positive relationships on behalf of the Company with government regulators, residents, families, area healthcare providers, physicians, and the community at large.
  • Direct the implementation of Government requirements, rules, and legislative initiatives.
  • Oversee adherence to facility commitments and business practices to include labor costs, payables, and receivables.
  • With facility leadership, develop and implement a marketing strategy for the facility that reflects service opportunities, competition, potential market area changes, and maximizes census, payer mix, and ancillary revenues.



Qualifications:

Education



  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred (in healthcare, business or other related program) and minimum of 10 years of experience in health care industry with SNF and AL experience.
  • Licensed nursing home administrator and licensed assisted living director in the State of Minnesota.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Multi-facility management experience preferred.
  • Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident's families, and employees.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills, including email use.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Ability to travel 50% of time.
