Description

The Director of Operations - New Acquisitions provides oversight of assisted living communities while leading the onboarding of newly acquired communities and partnering closely with the transition team to ensure successful operational integration, stabilization, and alignment with company standards. This role advances Lifespark's vision, mission, and values by driving quality of care and service delivery, employee relations, hiring, financial performance tied to internal key performance indicators and the Company Scorecard.

Position: Director of Operations - New Acquisitions

Salary: $165,000 - $185,000 annually, depending on experience

Service Area: Twin Cities Metro area. Plus, mileage reimbursement of 72.5 cents per mile.

Schedule: 1.0 FTE, Full - Time / Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (occasional after hours for events and community support)

Position Functions & Responsibilities:



  • Provide strategic direction to Executive Directors and leadership teams in support of company mission, values, goals, and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and goal achievement.
  • Partner with community leadership and consultants to develop and execute business plans across all areas of operations, including priorities and role assignments.
  • Monitor community financial performance, quality initiatives, and customer service outcomes.
  • Coach Executive Directors and community leaders on key performance metrics and operational analytics.
  • Evaluate Executive Director performance and provide feedback, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
  • Build a culture that encourages critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership development.
  • Conduct regular operational rounds to assess care delivery, support services, cleanliness, staff morale, and resident needs.
  • Provide oversight of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
  • Identify potential legal and operational risks and implement strategies to mitigate exposure.
  • Promote exceptional service for internal and external customers through ongoing support of customer service initiatives and business objectives.
  • Use customer feedback and survey data to prioritize operational improvements.
  • Ensure effective use of consultants and support resources, appropriate staff training, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Ensure buildings, grounds, equipment, and work areas are safe, clean, well maintained, and free of hazards.
  • Partner with human resources practices to ensure compliance with employment laws, support staff engagement, and promote retention.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, residents, families, healthcare partners, physicians, and community stakeholders.
  • Direct implementation of regulatory requirements, rules, and legislative initiatives.
  • Oversee adherence to operational commitments and financial practices, including labor, payables, and receivables.
  • Partner with community leadership to develop and execute market strategies that maximize census, payer mix, and ancillary revenue.
  • Lead onboarding and operational integration of newly acquired communities.
  • Lead the transition team to deliver a smooth, stable onboarding process.
  • Own Complete Senior Living (CSL) implementation across new acquisitions.
  • Partner with owners and key stakeholders to ensure a smooth, stable transition.
  • Direct onboarding and integration of plans across operations, staffing, training, and compliance.
  • Align cross-functional teams to support effective transitions and operational stability and CSL.
  • Oversee post-acquisition stabilization and performance across operational, financial, and quality outcomes.



Qualifications:

Education



  • Advanced degree and a minimum of five years of healthcare experience, including assisted living experience.
  • Licensed Assisted Living Director in the State of Minnesota.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Multi-facility management experience preferred.
  • Must be able to relate professionally, positively, owners, partners and cooperatively with residents, resident's families, and employees.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills, including email use.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
