Job Summary The Dual Diagnosis Clinician participates in implementation of mental health and substance abuse treatment services for patients in the Infectious Disease Program. This clinician works independently and with other Mental Health/Substance Abuse Team members in performing individual and group counseling when new or reenrolling patients present with acute or chronic mental health/substance abuse disorders, crisis situations, or need ongoing treatment.Qualifications: - MS degree in Behavioral Science or Counseling - Excellent written and verbal skills required. - This clinician also provides behavioral health consultation to primary care teams. - Must be licensed or license eligible by professional state licensing board. - 5+ years of Clinical experience in mental health/substance abuse treatment setting, two years of which must be in a comparable setting counseling addicted and psychiatrically impaired individuals. - Knowledge of substance abuse interventions, dual diagnosis interventions, HIV disease, and psychiatric disorders. - Experience in caring for patients with HIV/AIDS .
