Vendor Quality Lead (VQL) - Pharmaceutical (Contract Role)

Location: 30080 (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: $70-$75/hour on W2

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Vendor Quality Lead (VQL) to support global Quality Assurance activities for Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). The role involves ensuring compliance with GMP regulations and maintaining high-quality standards across external manufacturing partners for pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Act as the primary QA point of contact for assigned external vendors/CMOs.
  • Review and manage deviations, OOS results, quality complaints, and investigations.
  • Ensure timely implementation of CAPA actions and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and oversee Quality Agreements with external manufacturing partners.
  • Track vendor performance through KPIs and quality metrics.
  • Participate in supplier audits and regulatory inspections, and follow up on observations.
  • Support Product Quality Reviews (PQR) and annual stability programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including QA, CMC, Technical Operations, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Manage change control activities related to external manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, EMA, and ICH guidelines.
  • Support technology transfer and product lifecycle activities with CMOs.


Required Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related field (Mandatory).
  • 8+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance.
  • Strong experience in GMP-regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with vendor/CMO quality management.
  • Experience in deviations, CAPA, OOS investigations, and change control.
  • Strong background in audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a global and cross-functional environment.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience with Product Quality Reviews (PQR/APR).
  • Knowledge of Technology Transfer and Stability Programs.
  • Experience working with global pharmaceutical vendors.
  • Strong root cause analysis and risk management skills.
