About the Opportunity:

As a Metal Treatment Operator (Heat Treat) at our Cleveland, OH facility, you will play a critical role in producing forged aerospace components used in commercial aviation and defense applications around the world. Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will perform coating operations on slugs, preforms, and blades while operating and maintaining snag and swirl polish equipment to remove forging irregularities and prepare parts for downstream processing. This position requires a strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and dedication to maintaining safe and efficient operations. You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure products meet stringent customer specifications while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Location: Cleveland, OH

This is a full-time role that may require some extended hours and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain heat treat furnaces, ovens, and finishing equipment in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
  • Perform coating operations on slugs, preforms, and blades.
  • Operate snag and swirl polish equipment to remove forging irregularities and prepare parts for downstream processing.
  • Set up, monitor, inspect, and adjust production equipment to ensure compliance with process specifications and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, routers, sketches, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Maintain material traceability, including heat code identification, billet mapping, and required product marking.
  • Perform required inspections, testing, and documentation activities to support quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete production records, logbooks, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Safely handle chemicals, materials, tools, and equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Operate hand tools, hoists, material handling equipment, and powered industrial trucks as authorized.
  • Identify and report process deviations, equipment issues, and safety concerns to supervision.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Production Control teams to support production goals, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in training programs and maintain required certifications and qualifications.
  • Support cross-training efforts and assist in training other operators as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and comply with all company policies, procedures, and business conduct standards.
  • Perform other duties and support additional production operations as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, metalworking, forging, heat treat, or finishing environment.
  • Experience operating industrial furnaces, ovens, blasting equipment, polishing equipment, or similar production machinery.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, ISO 9001, or other quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routers, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience maintaining material traceability and completing production or quality records.
  • Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of heat treat, shot peen, coating, blasting, polishing, or other metal finishing processes.
  • Forklift, crane, or material handling equipment experience.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial machinery, noise, heat, and other typical shop conditions.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and move materials in accordance with established safety guidelines.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
